Alta Video — 2052: Potential out-of-band read in golang.org/x/crypto/ssh/agent

Release Date

07 Apr 2026.

Overview

A vulnerability was identified in the golang.org/x/crypto/ssh/agent package related to the processing of new identity requests. Specifically, the SSH agent servers did not validate the size of messages, potentially leading to an out-of-bounds read. This could cause the program to panic if a malformed message was received. The impact of such an attack is considered lower in our system as the SSH process is automatically restarted and it runs in its own process.

Affected Products

  • Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras:
    • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 8.1.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 8.1.0.

Unaffected Products

  • Alta Video: all versions.

  • Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras:

    • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 8.1.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 8.1.0.
  • Alta Video Cloud: all versions.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras Beta upgrade channel version 8.1.0 and Stable upgrade channel version 8.1.5.

It is strongly recommended that all Avigilon Cloud-Native camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface for Avigilon Cloud-Native cameras and the Avigilon Cloud-Native Camera Interface for unmanaged cameras.
